The AVinDH Special Interest Group is launching the AVinDH Online Workshop Series 2026, a year-round programme dedicated to current developments in Audiovisual and Digital Humanities. The series brings together scholars, researchers, and practitioners interested in innovative approaches to audiovisual media. Through online workshops, it highlights new tools for analysing audio and visual data, emerging methodologies, exciting datasets, and critical questions shaping the field today.
The first workshop, “Datascene (VAA1)”, will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. CEST. Datascene is a research-led multimodal intelligence platform that transforms audiovisual material into structured, searchable, and traceable knowledge. Further workshops in the series will focus on topics including audiovisual corpora, video annotation tools, and synthetic image generators in humanities research.
The online format makes the workshops accessible to participants from around the world. Recordings of the events will also be made available for later viewing.
